Symptom narrative

On 1/3/24 my son was diagnosed with pneumonia and treated. On 2/4 was diagnosed with Flu A Has significant cough and worsening shortness of breath despite albuterol nebs. Went to ER again on 2/7 for worsening condition. Followed up with PCP on 2/8 shared concerns and with him of breathing issues and possible absent seizures. He dismissed these concerns and urged for vaccine for dtap. Appointment on 2/28 doctor states pt was showing no sign of pneumonia or any breathing issues at the time of the appointment. Repeated over and over again lungs sounded fine dismissing my concerns for vaccine until further testing on pt. Urged for vaccine at 4:30 even tho they were close to closing. Pt had vaccine and with 45 minutes started wheezing and had an off color to him. His cognitive state changed dramatically. Pt refused to eat dinner. Had nightly meds as usual around 9pm and went to bed. At 10:30 he woke up dramatically gasping for air and not being able to catch his breath. Very pale with red blotches all over and not opening his eyes. He was not responding to us when prompting to complete his inhaler. Nebulizer did not help and continued to struggle through out the night. I called pulmonary first this in the morning and was told to continue nebulizer every few hours, I continue this plan even when my concerns for his state worsened. By day 2 he was still struggling to breath and developed 104 fever. I brought him to ER on 3/3. Doctor did not think it was pneumonia but due to past gave antibiotics and sent home. His condition worsened and returned 3/5. He was admitted for high heart rate and low oxygen around 88 and persistent cough. I expressed pt?s body trembling like a seizure but was dismissed. Pt was weaned off oxygen and sent home with 2 weeks of steroids and antibiotics. No proof of pneumonia or any positive sickness. They refused to admit that it was a reaction to dtap. Pt later was confirmed with polymicrogryia that puts him at high risk for seizures. Fevers lowers his threshold for this. He has had multiple abnormal EEGs confirming risk of seizures in 2025 and new doctors agree that pt needs to be inpatient for any future vaccines.
