Received an influenza vaccine in the left arm at (pharmacy) in November 2025. The injection was administered very high in the arm, and the provider moved the needle while it was inserted to adjust positioning. Approximately 12 hours after vaccination, I developed significant pain at the injection site. The pain persisted beyond 3 weeks without improvement and progressively worsened, radiating down the entire left arm and into the hand. The pain was severe and functionally limiting, disrupting sleep and restricting daily activities, including lifting my baby, carrying groceries, working on a computer, and exercising. After 3 weeks, I sought medical care. My primary care physician prescribed pain medication and urgently referred me to an orthopedic specialist. The orthopedic physician diagnosed bursitis and administered an ultrasound-guided cortisone injection. In addition, I participated in multiple physical therapy sessions as part of ongoing treatment to improve function and recovery. The cortisone injection provided temporary relief for approximately 3.5 months. The pain has since returned and worsened despite a second physician-administered cortisone injection. I continue to experience constant pain, limited range of motion, and ongoing functional impairment. This injury has had a significant and ongoing impact on my ability to care for my child, perform my job, and carry out basic daily activities.
