The patient was treated with procaine hydrochloride (Novocaine). The outcome of the vaccination failure and shingles were not resolved. The patient described the feeling as though they had been given a shot of novocaine. The patient reported still feeling tingling in these areas in addition to the painful shingles outbreak. The patient described the outbreak as rash-like in appearance. The patient was willing to provide photographs if requested.
