Suspected vaccination failure; got both shots and then 6 months later I got the shingles virus/ A rash all over my body and painful to sleep; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a 75-year-old patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine and the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, 6 months after receiving Shingles vaccine and an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: got both shots and then 6 months later I got the shingles virus/ A rash all over my body and painful to sleep). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the shingles was resolved (duration 5 weeks). The patient got both shots and then 6 months later got the shingles virus so getting the shots does not protect you from getting it. The patient had the virus for about 5 weeks with a rash all over body and painful to sleep. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
