blood clots; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of THROMBOSIS (blood clots) in an adult female patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. No Medical History information was reported. In September 2021, the patient received dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular use) 1 dosage form. In September 2021, received dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular use) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On an unknown date, the patient experienced THROMBOSIS (blood clots) (seriousness criterion medically significant). The patient was treated with Surgery (Patient underwent thrombectomy procedures in 2023, 2024, and either 2024 or 2025.) for Thrombosis. At the time of the report, THROMBOSIS (blood clots) outcome was unknown. Concomitant medication was not provided. It was reported that the patient experienced serious adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination. It was reported that the patient had almost died the previous year due to a blood clot. According to the report, the patient had undergone three thrombectomies which was blood clot removal surgeries despite having no prior history of thrombotic events. It was further reported that the blood clot that occurred during the previous year was not as large, was detected early, and was therefore removed before it became too large. Additionally, it was reported that the treating physician stated that it was unusual for an individual to require two or three blood clot removal surgeries in their lifetime. The report further indicated that, based on subsequent review and research, the COVID-19 vaccine was believed by the reporter to be associated with the patient's blood clot events. It was reported that complete vaccination details for the patient were not available. According to the report, the patient's vaccination was known to have occurred in September, although the exact dates could not be recalled. The patient went back that day and then got the shot again. Both the vaccines were done in September. The report indicated that the patient underwent thrombectomy procedures in 2023, 2024, and either 2024 or 2025, although the exact year of the most recent event could not be confirmed.
