Symptom narrative

Patient's mom states that she developed swelling and redness at site of injection 1-2 days after administration. She reported this to the pediatrician but not the pharmacy. Her daughter's provider thought it was just a normal reaction and said it should go away after a few days/weeks. However, it developed into a hard bump that is painful to the touch and throbs. It has been 2 years since the vaccine was administered and she still has the bump and pain. She is now being told by her provider that the only way to resolve the pain is to cut out the bump. The ADE was not reported to us (the pharmacy) until today (03/30/2026). The vaccine was administered on 01/15/2024.
