Covid-19; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of COVID-19 (Covid-19) in a 71-year-old male patient who received mRNA-1273.251 (Spikevax LP.8.1 PFS) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The suspect product included Pre-filled Syringe injection for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included Passive smoking (he grew up in a smoker household (his father was a heavy smoker).). Previously administered products included for COVID-19 prophylaxis: Spikevax NOS (Patient had been fully vaccinated and boosted with Moderna's covid-19 vaccines. He had every shot and every booster that had been available.). Past adverse reactions to the above products included No adverse effect with Spikevax NOS. Family history included COPD (COPD (his mother passed away from COPD)) since an unknown date and Smoker (his father was a heavy smoker). In 2025, the patient received dose of mRNA-1273.251 (Spikevax LP.8.1 PFS) (Intramuscular use) 1 dosage form. On an unknown date, the patient started Pre-filled Syringe (unknown route) at an unspecified dose. On 01-Mar-2026, the patient experienced COVID-19 (Covid-19). In March 2026, COVID-19 (Covid-19) had resolved. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): On 06-Mar-2026, SARS-CoV-2 test: (Positive) diagnosed with COVID-19. The patient staggered his vaccines. He did not have the flu vaccine and Spikevax at the same time. No concomitant medication was reported. The reporter believed the suspect was administered sometime in the first 2 weeks of Oct-2025 or might be in Sep-2025. The patient had a round of COVID-19 infection. He was exposed to COVID-19 on 28-Feb-2026. He started having symptoms on 01-Mar-2026, which included fever, chills, severe sore throat with a razor blade feeling, a little bit of nasal drip, and achiness. His sore throat was bad. It had been either a week and a half or 2 weeks since the patient had recovered from his COVID-19 infection. It was unknown if the patient experienced any additional symptoms/events.
