Symptom narrative

fever; cold-like symptoms; pre-existing Parkinson's disease worsened; pre-existing facial paralysis worsened; pre-existing facial paralysis worsened; weight loss; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. Other Case identifier(s): KR-GENAES-GEN-2603-OHrMgJ. An elderly male patient received BNT162b2 (COMIRNATY NOS), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history included: "Parkinson's disease" (unspecified if ongoing); "facial paralysis" (unspecified if ongoing). The patient took concomitant medications. The following information was reported: PYREXIA (hospitalization), outcome "recovered", described as "fever"; NASOPHARYNGITIS (hospitalization), outcome "recovered", described as "cold-like symptoms"; PARKINSON'S DISEASE (hospitalization), outcome "recovered", described as "pre-existing Parkinson's disease worsened"; FACIAL PARALYSIS (hospitalization), CONDITION AGGRAVATED (hospitalization), outcome "recovered" and all described as "pre-existing facial paralysis worsened"; WEIGHT DECREASED (hospitalization), outcome "recovered", described as "weight loss". The events "fever", "cold-like symptoms", "pre-existing parkinson's disease worsened", "pre-existing facial paralysis worsened" and "weight loss" required emergency room visit. The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: Weight: loss. It was unknown if therapeutic measures were taken as a result of pyrexia, nasopharyngitis, parkinson's disease, facial paralysis, condition aggravated, weight decreased. Clinical course: He developed a fever and cold-like symptoms immediately after vaccination. He had pre-existing Parkinson's disease and facial paralysis, and these symptoms worsened, along with weight loss. There were no available beds in the emergency room. He continued taking his regular medications while visiting the hospital. The doctor did not attribute the symptoms to the vaccine, but the symptoms persisted for over a month. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 will be requested and submitted if and when received.
