Patient's mother described patient having no issues day of administration. The next morning, the child was crying for about 30 minutes and saying "It hurts" while grabbing at her left thigh. Parent stated that at that time she was avoiding putting weight on the left leg. The mother described that the child had a red, inflamed, area near the injection site about the size of a nickel. Parent took child's temperature (temporal) that was 97.8 F. Parent stated that later that day the child seemed to move with normal gait but was still complaining of pain. The size of the inflamed area had not increased. The mother reported that she did not observe signs of infection nor of an allergic reaction. She also stated that she had informed the child's pediatrician. The report was made today 4/1/26. Mother provided with education and advised to report any significant changes or if the issue has not improved within a few days.
