Patient noted immediate pain/discomfort going down left arm to hand after MMR IM injection in left deltoid. IM Hep-B vaccine then administered to right deltoid. Pt again noted some discomfort. Patient went out to waiting room as she was waiting for paperwork to be signed by provider. Several minutes later, patient came up to secretary's window to say that she wasn't feeling great. Pt noted to tachypneic with red face and hands. Patient immediately brought back to exam room where vital signs were taken. BP elevated, all other VSS. Hands noted to be very cold. Cold compress applied to forehead. BP normalized after several minutes. PCP brought into the room to assess/auscultate lungs. ECG and +25 mg IM Benadryl ordered. EKG NSR. Pt allowed to go back to the waiting room to hang out for 20 minutes for monitoring per PCP instructions. After 5-10 more minutes, patient was checked on and she was shivering and had her jacket on. Pt brought back to exam room again. BP elevated again, pt instructed to lie down, BP elevated again. Blankets provided for warmth. PCP came in again, VSS by this point. This nurse stayed with patient for another 20 minutes per MD instructions, then ambulated around the hallway. Pt stated was initially slightly groggy from the Benadryl, but stated that it was wearing off by this point. Patient cleared to leave facility by PCP. Patient scheduled 2nd Hep-B dose for a month later on her way out, okayed per clinician.
