Symptom narrative

Single drop of rotarix fell onto patients left eyelid. Immunization tech immediately wiped it away, some residue fell into pt's eye. Tech consulted with supervisor about event. Tech searched through the insert for rotarix and found no answers of what to do in this event. Pt was taken down to pediatric clinic and eye was flushed with 20 CC of NS for as long as patient and parent would tolerate it. Pt was examined by pediatrication and had no concerns at the time. There was no signs of discomfort or irritation from the patient. Conjuctiva was clear bilaterally without erythema. Provider consulted with IHD to obtain further guidance and they recommended eye rinse for at least 15 minutes. MOP and pt was sent to (withheld) to finish eye flush but (withheld) denied them. Pt is overall doing well at this time with no affects.
