Patient came on Sunday 4/12/26 in the afternoon & spoke about how she had experience a reaction from her TDAP (Boostrix) vaccine that she suspected was administered too high/closer to her shoulder on 4/4/26 at her local Walgreens. Patient was then asked to show me (the current pharmacist on duty) where the vaccine was given and from a physical examination, it is likely that patient is experiencing Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA) as the placement was pretty high on her shoulder rather than closer to the deltoid area. When questioned, patient had mentioned that for the first 2-3 days after the immunization, she had experienced more soreness, aches, and pain from this vaccine compared to other vaccines she had received in the past. She claims to feel better afterwards for a day or so, but then the pain came back more intense and painful, so much that it keeps her up at night time. Patient was recommended to take NSAIDs such as aleve or motrin to alleviate the pain while we report this incident into our internal reporting system and then report this incident to VAERs appropriately.
