they were concerned something could be wrong with the vaccine, considering she had the vaccine and it did not work; she was tested for 33 different pneumococcal types, (type 1- through 33) and she tested extremely low for the majority of them; This spontaneous report was received from a Physician and refers to a(n) 58-year-old female patient. The patient's medical history included breast cancer and thyroid cancer (breast cancer and thyroid cancer prior). The patient's concurrent conditions were not reported. Concomitant medications included Synthroid (Levothyroxine sodium), Hydroxyzine (Hydroxyzine hydrochloride), Celebrex (Celecoxib) . On 02-Dec-2025, the patient was vaccinated with Pneumococcal 21-valent Conjugate Vaccine (CAPVAXIVE), formulation: injection, 0.5 mL (lot #, expiration date, route of administration and anatomical location were not provided) for prevention. On 25-Mar-2026, the patient experienced laboratory test abnormal. The patient's immunologist ordered blood work. One of the items they were checking was immunity to pneumonia. Consumer reports she was tested for 33 different pneumococcal types, (type 1- through 33) and she tested extremely low for the majority of them. The HCP told her she needs a pneumonia vaccination not knowing she already received the Pneumococcal 21-valent Conjugate Vaccine (CAPVAXIVE). Consumer reports that she spoke with a pharmacist and reports: "they were concerned something could be wrong with the vaccine, considering she had the vaccine and it did not work". The patient reported that "It is very concerning that there might be Pneumococcal 21-valent Conjugate Vaccine (CAPVAXIVE) vaccines being administered that does not work" (vaccination failure). At the reporting time, the outcome of laboratory test abnormal was unknown. The causal relationship between the event of laboratory test abnormal and Pneumococcal 21-valent Conjugate Vaccine (CAPVAXIVE) was unknown/not reported/not provided.
