Symptom narrative

Arm hurt a little bit; Felt a little bit different for a day or so; Tired; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of PAIN IN EXTREMITY (Arm hurt a little bit), FEELING ABNORMAL (Felt a little bit different for a day or so) and FATIGUE (Tired) in an elderly female patient who received mRNA-1273.251 (Spikevax LP.8.1 PFS) (batch no. 3052663) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The suspect product included Pre-filled Syringe injection (batch no. 3052663) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included Pre-diabetic (it was around 2023/2024) and Passive smoking (growing up in a smoking house, but she never smoked). Concurrent medical conditions included COPD (she was having a little COPD from growing up in a smoking house, but she never smoked) and Clinical trial participant (She was enrolled in a clinical trial and had participated in trials in the past. She had been involved in an Alzheimer's research trial for 24 years. She went there every year for MRIs and all that stuff). On 24-Sep-2025, the patient received dose of mRNA-1273.251 (Spikevax LP.8.1 PFS) (unknown route) 50 microgram. On an unknown date, the patient started Pre-filled Syringe (unknown route) at an unspecified dose. On an unknown date, the patient experienced PAIN IN EXTREMITY (Arm hurt a little bit), FEELING ABNORMAL (Felt a little bit different for a day or so) and FATIGUE (Tired). At the time of the report, PAIN IN EXTREMITY (Arm hurt a little bit), FEELING ABNORMAL (Felt a little bit different for a day or so) and FATIGUE (Tired) had resolved. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): On an unknown date, Continuous glucose monitoring: 5.8 and 5.3. On an unknown date, Glycosylated haemoglobin: found out she was pre-diabetic. The patient's current age was reported as 81 years old. The patient had no vaccines within the past 4 weeks of any vaccine. No concomitant medications were provided. It was reported that, the patient was pre-diabetic for a while but wore a Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) device and monitored everything she ate so she was no longer pre-diabetic. She got Continuous Glucose Monitoring and brought the patient glucose levels down. It was reported that the COPD did not really bother her, and she could still do 5 flights of stairs in 45 seconds. The patient did not do this on the day when she got the vaccine. It was reported that the patient and her husband always got Moderna vaccines. They tried and got the vaccine every 3-4 months, and they did not have COVID. It was reported that, her husband had prostate cancer and had been going through cancer treatments, and his cancer was pre-existing to any COVID vaccines, for a while ago. He was undergoing radiation before COVID-19, in 2019 or something like that. After the vaccine, the patient and her husband were taking their ninety-minute walk. The patient's doctor informed to the patient that if she was not having any side effects, it meant the vaccine was not working well because there should be side effects for the immune system to fight back. She helped in trials because she was in pretty good shape. It was unknown if the patient experienced any additional symptoms/events. No treatment medication was reported. This case was linked to MOD-2026-794756 (Patient Link).
