Symptom narrative

HPV vaccine caused pain during administration. Patient reported to continue having pain a week later: pain in shoulder-unable to lift arm above head, pain radiates to hand/wrist making it difficult to perform regular activities. Patient seen on 04/07/26: US ordered, referred to orthopedics, instructed to take ibuprofen 600mg TID x 7 days, perform gentle exercises, apply cool compress, rest shoulder but not immobile.

Current illness

Anxiety-fear of flying, elevated LDL, Prediabetes Risk.

Other medications

xanax 0.5 mg prn, Melatonin 5mg prn, Tretinoin 0.025% cream 1g nightly

Lab data

US impression: "no abnormality of the musculature or shoulder identified". MD recommended to follow up with Ortho and could consider MRI if shoulder pain persists. Patient has appointment with ortho scheduled.
