pt felt dizzy after receiving the HPV vaccine, he laid down with his feet raised for a few minutes in the exam room with dad present. he eventually sat up, stood up & said he was fine- he walked out into the waiting room with dad & "fainted" per family- this RN did not witness this. pt was put into a waiting room chair by dad, I laid him down across the chairs & raised his legs up. his color was very pale. mom & sister were in the waiting room. Dr. was called in to see pt. we waited with pt for approximately 20-30 minutes & monitored pt, he was eventually able to sit up & drank cold water & ate some pretzels after confirming with parents he did not have any food allergies. pt kept saying he was hungry,, had not eaten since lunch. the office was very hot that day so we put a cool fan on him along with an ice pack to his forehead. his color eventually improved & he was able to walk out of the office with his family.
