Pneumococcal Pneumonia; lack of efficacy; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP from medical information team. An adult female patient received pneumococcal 13-val conj vac (dipht CRM197 protein) (PREVNAR 13), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Flu vaccine, for Immunization. The following information was reported: PNEUMONIA PNEUMOCOCCAL (medically significant), outcome "unknown", described as "Pneumococcal Pneumonia"; DRUG INEFFECTIVE (medically significant), outcome "unknown", described as "lack of efficacy". Clinical course: Reporter was an adult patient who received an unknown pneumococcal vaccine 12 years ago. She wants to know if she should take Prevnar 20, if there are any conflicts because supposedly it was a lifetime shot. She previously received an RSV vaccine and got pneumonia with it but stated it was not due to pneumococcal [disease]. She states she does not want to ever have that again, that was terrible. Unable to verify if patient received Abrysvo RSV vaccine. Advised that Prevnar 20 was indicated as a single shot in adults. Recommendations to revaccinate are based on vaccination history and medical history per ACIP. Referred reporter to HCP. She states she had a lifetime pneumonia vaccine 12 years ago and she was trying to figure out if she has to take Prevnar 20. She used to work for a school and received pneumococcal and flu vaccines from the county nurse, but she has since retired and does not have her vaccination records. She was trying to figure out which Pneumococcal vaccine she received previously and her doctor keeps saying Prevnar which she assumes was the only pneumonia vaccine. Because Pfizer manufactures Prevnar, she called for possible information. Advised per Prevnar 20 PI that the initial approval date for Prevnar 20 was 2021 so it was unlikely that she received the Prevnar 20 vaccine previously considering the timeline provided. Advised that Pfizer had a previous pneumococcal vaccine, Prevnar 13, that has since been discontinued. Prevnar 13 per PI was approved in 2010. Reporter was initially asking about Prevnar 13/20. She states that she previously received an RSV vaccine and got pneumonia with it but stated it was not due to pneumococcal [disease]. She states she does not want to ever have that again, that was terrible. Unable to verify if patient received Abrysvo RSV vaccine. No follow-up attempts are possible. Batch/lot number is not provided, and it cannot be obtained.
