Symptom narrative

Irritation similar to contact dermatitis began on April 13 at the site of injection on left torso at waistline. By April 15, the inflammation intensified to burning and itching with oozing blisters. The area had expanded on left torso to approximately 6 inches x 12 inches, concentrated around a spot of 2-inch radius of severe inflammation at the approximate injection site. Itchy burning blisters also appeared on neck, face (including eyelid). At this time, treatment began with 60 mg prednisone daily for 5 days and 1 g valacyclovier 3x daily for 7 days, which lead to improvement of symptoms over the next 5 days, although blistering continued to appear over the body. Symptoms worsened again after prednisone treatment ended. At 10 days after first symptoms, inflammation on torso and new areas of blistering still present.
