This was pt's first vaccine at 2 months. We declined the HEP B and she only received the vit K shot in the hospital. She was a normal breastfed baby who had many BM's a day. After receiving this vaccine she could not move her bowels for 7 days and has suffered from SEVERE constipation since. Her gut was definitely injured. We sought out every possible avenue to help her because seeing our 2 month old cry in agony not being able to go to the bathroom and subsequently screaming in pain every time she had to go despite all our efforts with diet changes, med trials, acupuncture to FINALLY at 4 years 3 months bringing her to a naturopathic doctor who ran all kinds of test to find out she has the longest list of food sensitivities a child her age should ever have and this doctor has ever seen. Now on a beyond restrictive diet of gluten free, egg free, dairy free, chicken free and low histamine, along with supporting supplements our precious baby can finally go to the bathroom daily. When I asked how she was doing with the diet because it is so restrictive she stated "mommy my tummy doesn't hurt anymore". I asked her "why baby did it hurt before?". Her response was "every day mommy". She has also suffered from SEVERE vertigo episodes that started right before her 2nd birthday. They involve 3-5 days of vertigo, pallor, vomiting and inability to move. When I asked the doctors if she could have possibly been dizzy even as an infant because she was so hesitant to move they all answered a responding yes (her neuro, her ENT and her ophthalmologist: all who we had to see to try to help her navigate these episodes) She has had 13 in her short little life here on earth and they are debilitating. She has also taken hippotherapy to address coordination and balance issues resulting from the vertigo. We have finally discovered that it is possibly related also to her gut injury. Her ENT and vestibular PT were both happy that we were finally on a diet that they both though may be helpful. She can now also explain that during her episodes she does not get migraines (although it has been dx as Recurrent vertigo of childhood (RCV)) in her head, but severe abdominal pain pointing more towards abdominal migraines. It has been a challenge to get to an answer. We are still on a path to trying to heal her gut from a vaccine that was supposed to protect her. The constipation was so bad she had fissures, formed an external skin tag that she was not born with that the doctors told me was caused by how much she was pushing and it impacted her quality of life so much for 4 years and 3 months. I am just reporting now, because after getting through everything I am and always was 100% positive she has suffered a vaccine injury. She was a perfectly healthy child prior to this vaccine and by that night there was something extremely different about her. I pray this does not happen to anyone else's child because the agony and pain our daughter has had to endure and now trying to heal and help her nervous system learn that it doesn't always have to be in fight or flight from being in constant pain is a challenge.
