Suspected vaccination failure; oral herpes zoster; shingles; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. Family history included shingles (patient's mother had shingles in the sinus cavity when she passed). On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine and the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), oral herpes zoster (Verbatim: oral herpes zoster) and shingles (Verbatim: shingles). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the oral herpes zoster was resolving and the outcome of the shingles was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, oral herpes zoster and shingles to be related to Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine. The company considered the vaccination failure to be unrelated to Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine. Patient got both the vaccines and got shingles twice after that, had shingles over the past holiday that was second time around, the started out in mouth this time and moved to left shoulder. Patient was about halfway through and had a relapse of them and the spread down to back, stated that he/she still had pain. Patient also stated that this time the shingles looked totally different that the first time, the first time they were little blisters and this time looked like chicken pox but the physician said to patient that they were shingles and there are different types of shingles. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
