The evening of receiving vaccines, approx 5-6 hrs later, experienced episodes of severe pain, described as screaming and inconsolable. After calming down in a rocking chair, began vomiting immediately. During the vomiting episode, started turning blue and was patted while 911 was called. Briefly stopped breathing and passed out, but slowly resumed breathing and regained color after being laid on the ground with head tilted up, as instructed by the 911 operator. The total duration of blue coloring and altered breathing was estimated at less than a minute, with intermittent breathing and responsiveness for approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Remained unresponsive and staring for a period during the episode. Ambulance arrived and evaluated, with reassurance provided. ? Following the event, appeared very tired and had difficulty falling asleep, eventually sleeping on the floor for three hours, then waking for two hours, followed by another three-hour nap. Continued for the next 12-15 hrs to have episodes of zoning out. Intermittent attention and unusual breathing, kind of breathing harder than normal. He also developed a cough and was more shakey, especially in his arms. Normal appetite. No fever. No further vomiting reported. Displayed periods of smiling and normal behavior, but also episodes of zoning out and shakiness. Also sounds like he is grunting intermittently with his breathing. ? Patient was examined in clinic by PCP and then referred to hospital for further evaluation where he was admitted for observation. Events of staring were captured on EEG and were not seizures. Neurologist consulted. No need for follow up with them, but recommended follow-up with opthalmology for abnormal eye movements. Chest xray done was normal. As of 4/30/2026 he has improved. ?
