The patient's past medical history included shingles (3 times). On 21-APR-2026, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix. In APR-2026, less than a week after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced hospitalization (Verbatim: hospital by ambulance at 1:30 am and admitted) (serious criteria hospitalization). On 23-APR-2026, the outcome of the hospitalization was resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the hospitalization to be related to Shingrix. The company considered the hospitalization to be unrelated to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 23-APR-2026 The patient reported that they received the Shingrix vaccine in the morning after researching whether it was safe to receive the vaccine following three prior episodes of shingles. The patient was taken to the hospital by ambulance at 1:30 am and admitted and discharged on the day of reporting. The patient wanted to share the story so you could take another look at how and when you advise former patients of shingles to participate in the vaccine. The patient also appreciated a frank conversation- not to be shared- about whether they were at risk if they did not opt to take vaccine 2 or if it was possible to take a lesser dose. The patient was inclined to steer clear of this after what had happened but was also concerned about the risk of getting shingles again and perhaps a stronger case of it if did not finish.
