Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine and the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: suspected vaccination faliure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: Shingles). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the shingles was not resolved. The patient had received both shingles shots, and at age 73 she developed a severe case of shingles that covered her left thigh (front and rear), her left buttock, and one-third of the way up her back. The patient still had scars on her thigh that tingled from time to time. The patient still recommended vaccination for all seniors. It had been very painful for her, and she could only imagine how much worse it would have been without the vaccine. The shots had given her a much better chance of not contracting singles, and she felt that improving one's chances only made sense. The batch number was not provided and a request for this information has been made. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding time to onset and laboratory test confirming shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.; Sender's Comments: A case of Vaccination failure, on an unknown time after vaccination with 1st and 2nd doses of Shingles vaccine, in a 73-year-old patient.
