patient was brought in by her mom for a redness, rash, swelling, and pain at the left upper arm where vaccines were given at her well visit on 5/4/2026. Mom says child did fine after the vaccines initially. On 5/5/2026 no concerns were noted. On 5/6/2026 daycare informed mom that around 1 in the afternoon she began to complain of pain and there was some redness seen at the left upper arm. Mom tried looking at the area after she picked her up from daycare yesterday, but child complained of pain and would not let mom take the Band-Aid off. Mom monitor did overnight and did give ibuprofen and apply ice. She thinks the ibuprofen helped minimally. Child did allow her to put ice to the area. This morning the redness, swelling, and pain are all worse. Mom is concerned about the appearance. There is no fever. Child can move her arm and shoulder in all directions without impairment. However, child does report pain and discomfort of the left upper arm especially if touched. Mom and Dr. reviewed the timeline that nothing abnormal was noted until about 48 hours after the vaccines were given. Also of note, mom is certain that it is worse and redness is spreading and progressing this morning compared to yesterday afternoon.
