The side effects (severe chills) from second shot scared; This non-serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of chills in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included facial herpes zoster (had shingles in a nerve on the right side of my face near my eye) and herpes zoster infection neurological (had shingles in a nerve on the right side of my face near my eye). Previously administered products included Varicella zoster vaccine with an associated reaction of herpes zoster and Shingrix with an associated reaction of chills (refer first dose case US2026AMR062198). On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced chills (Verbatim: The side effects (severe chills) from second shot scared). Rechallenge with Shingrix was positive. The outcome of the chills was resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the chills to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the company considered the chills to be related to Shingrix. The patient had the first shingles shot before Shingrix was developed. After that had shingles in a nerve on the right side of face near eye. Patient had to go to the emergency eye clinic to make sure there was no damage to eye and then follow up with own opthamologist a couple of days later could have lost sight in eye. Patient was so happy to get the Shingrix vaccinations even though experienced the worst possible side effects. Patient had the same side effect severe chills with the second shot, but knew how to deal with them and, had a heated blanket so turned it on and was fine by morning.
