After completion of all vaccines, patient was escorted to waiting area to begin her 15 minute monitoring period for adverse reactions. After approximately 2-3 minutes, her boyfriend called us over as the patient had lost consciousness and began minorly convulsing. She regained consciousness after a few seconds and stated that she felt lightheaded and dizzy. We arranged chairs for her to lie down on and got her a damp paper towel for her face and neck. Both the patient and her boyfriend stated that she had a previous diagnosis of vasovagal reaction since she was a child and that this was a typical response to pain for her. She remained in the waiting area for approximately 30 minutes and did not have another episode during this time. She was fully awake, alert, and oriented upon leaving the pharmacy.
