Received first polio vaccine on 9/22/22: within a few hours he developed a fever and difficulty eating and swallowing. Three days after vaccine, he developed a rash on his face and canker sores. He was evaluated by a dentist 2 days later (canker sores diagnosed in this visit). Canker sores lasted 6 months. All other symptoms resolved in a few days
One month prior to vaccination: he tested positive for COVID (fever, fatigue, cough, congestion, runny nose, and itchy rash on face, torso, genitals, and extremities. Paracetamol as needed and betamethasone 0.05% solution for 5 days for treatment of rash. Lost significant weight Day of vaccination (9/22/22): Evaluated by doctor: Physical exam prior to vaccine administration revealed flesh colored papular rash on bilateral thighs (referred to dermatologist). Residual congestion present on day of vaccination.
