My daughter received her meningitis vaccine and did not feel well that evening. The next day she was complaining that her vision was altered and she had a headache. Her peripheral vision was blurry and pixelated. I assumed she was having a migraine with an aura as a response to the vaccine since I get migraines. The next week she brought up again that her vision was still pixelated in the periphery and that her headache was coming and going. I gave her some motrin and had her lay down with an ice pack hoping it was just a lingering reaction and that her vision would get better. Being the stoic, tough kid she is, she just kept taking motrin and didnt complain about her vision again until Sept 16th when she said her vision had not cahnged and had gotten worse. She could only clearly see what was was right in front of where her eyes were directed, liek she was in "potrait mode". We immediately went to the emergency room because her vision was getting worse. They did a CAT scan and did not find anytnig compressing the nerve or anything along the visual cortex, thank God. She was diagnosed with "Visual Snow Syndrome" that was set off my the meningitis vaccine. This was confirmed by a pediatric neurologist seen in January.
