Two days after receiving the vaccine, I developed a large red patch with blisters on the inside of my left elbow, which was swollen and tender. There was no reaction at the injection site. The next day smaller red blistered spots appeared on the same arm, and a day later a blistered patch appeared in the center of my upper back. I felt very lethargic the entire week after receiving the vaccine. I went to my primary care office the following Monday and saw an NP. She took photos and confirmed that it appeared to be shingles. She prescribed Valacyclovir, 3 tablets a day for 14 days. The patches slowly got smaller. The following Monday I saw my primary care doctor, (Dr.) to follow up. At this point the patches were mostly gone; the one on my elbow and on my back were scrabbed over.
