Pt received immunizations of ProQuad and Kinrix on 05/21/2026 in our (name withheld) Health Medical Group - Coldwater office during a well child appointment. The patient's mother called in to our (name withheld) location on 05/23/2026 with concerns of left arm inflammation and edema Mother reports patient was with grandmother on Friday 05/22/2026 and father had put him to bed in the evening so she had not yet seen his arm but when he woke up this morning the left arm was swollen and warm to the touch. Pt was brought in for evaluation during which time an abrasion on the left elbow was noted that the mother reports was present at the time of immunization. Pt with noted inflammation and edema in the left arm from shoulder to elbow. Pt prescribed cephalexin for cellulitis of the LUE and immunization reaction. Mother educated on supportive care instructions and when to seek further medical treatment. Provider reports unsure if immunization reaction or exaggerated immune response secondary to prior abrasion.
