Stress; again got shingles this last April (Second shingles episode); Suspected vaccination failure; got shingles in December of 2022 (First shingles episode); This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. Concurrent medical conditions included mosquito bite. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. In DEC-2022, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: got shingles in December of 2022 (First shingles episode)). In APR-2026, the patient experienced shingles (Verbatim: again got shingles this last April (Second shingles episode)). On an unknown date, the patient experienced stress (Verbatim: Stress). The patient was treated with Steroids, lidocaine, aloe vera and cetirizine hydrochloride (Zyrtec). The outcome of the vaccination failure, shingles and stress were not reported and the outcome of the shingles was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, shingles, shingles and stress to be related to Shingles vaccine. The company considered the vaccination failure to be unrelated to Shingles vaccine. It was unknown if the company considered the shingles, shingles and stress to be related to Shingles vaccine. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 19-MAY-2026 This case was reported by a patient via interactive digital media. The patient had the shingles series of vaccine. The patient got shingles in December of 2022 and again this last April one day before 77th birthday plus a mosquito bite (which patient was allergic to) on top of part of the rash which was on right side and front of neck and back of neck and a small area at back of scalp. This was very painful and very itchy. The patient was given a potent cortizone steroid cream plus used spray lidocaine and used in the beginning 100 percent aloe vera gel and daily zyrtec which in turn they all helped tremendously. The shots just helped with severity but will not keep you from getting it and plus can get it again. This was second time since 2022. This was very stressful both times, it had been a very stressful year and extreme stress can bring on the attacks. The patient still having symptoms from this last time. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting. Based on the available information a possible causality that the event was caused by GSK vaccine product cannot be ascertained. Consent for further follow up has not been received.
