suspected vaccination failure; Shingles; Post herpetic neuralgia; This serious case was reported by a consumer via call center representative and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) solution for injection for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included concussion. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), shingles (Verbatim: Shingles) and post herpetic neuralgia (Verbatim: Post herpetic neuralgia). The outcome of the vaccination failure and shingles were unknown and the outcome of the post herpetic neuralgia was resolved (duration 6 months). It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, shingles and post herpetic neuralgia to be related to Shingrix. Consumer stated she had both doses of Shingrix administered within 6 months. After complete vaccination, she was diagnosed with shingles. Consumer also reported the case was severe and had post herpetic neuralgia (PHN) that lasted around 6 months. She was prescribed medication but did not disclose the name, dose, and frequency. Consumer stated she had a concussion and other risk factors; dates and details were unknown. No further information was obtained. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
