This RN was notified by front office staff that a patient in our waiting room was "passing out/shaky". This RN evaluated pt by obtaining his heart rate, capillary refill and level of consciousness. Per patients' father, he noticed that his son was shaking, pale and "passed out for a quick second". Pt remained seated the entire time and stated he "felt weak" and felt like he was "waking up from a dream" but stated he felt fine. Upon re-assessment patient was pale and shaking, heart rate ranged from 48-54 beats per minute, and this RN handed patient over to EMS upon their arrival. EMS stated pt was in stable condition and recommended patient's dad to continue monitoring him and seek emergent care if needed.
