Symptom narrative

maybe suffered a little heat around the area of the application of the shot; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP from medical information team. A male patient received BNT162b2 (COVID-19 VACCINE NOS MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Covid-19 vaccine (DOSE NUMBER UNKNOWN, SINGLE; MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), administration date: 2021, for Covid-19 immunization. The following information was reported: VACCINATION SITE WARMTH (non-serious), outcome "unknown", described as "maybe suffered a little heat around the area of the application of the shot". Caller stated that he received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine "back in 2024" and that he experienced "frozen shoulder". He also mentioned that he had had several COVID-19 vaccinations prior to the vaccination in 2024 and had "never experienced anything", except for maybe "warmness or soreness". He went on to describe that he was not able to pull his right arm away from the side of his body and that his neuro-ophthalmologist recommended that he see a chiropractor. He stated that "strangely, [the chiropractor] has had a lot of success with people who have frozen shoulder" and that he was receiving chiropractic therapy from Aug2025 - Feb2026 and then gave himself a break. He also mentioned that those "different muscle therapies" and "joint therapy" he received with the chiropractor allowed him to pull his arm away from his body, but that it requires effort for his hand to go above his head "all the way to the top" and that it is uncomfortable to extend his arm that high. Additionally, he described that shortly after experiencing "frozen shoulder", he received an e-mail message from his younger brother, in which there was information that indicated that 30 - 38% of individuals who had received the COVID-19 vaccine had developed "frozen shoulder". He also expressed that he guesses that "they were all in this together, of being the test ground for vaccination from either [Pfizer or Moderna]". With regard to vaccinations, he added that he had also received the COVID-19 vaccine in 2021 and that the vaccination that resulted in "frozen shoulder" was on August 27th of 2024. He also described that the his treating chiropractor and a general practitioner indicated to him that he was "probably good enough to bypass the COVID vaccine" for the year 2025. For vaccination prior to the one in the year 2024, he stated that he "maybe suffered a little heat around the area of the application of the shot", but that with the vaccination in 2024, there was "major pain" at the injection site, as well as redness. With regard to the impact, he stated that he lives on a ranch and had to sell his cattle, as he is aware the cannot "move as quickly" and that he knows that he doesn't have "full strength or mobility". The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 will be requested and submitted if and when received.
