Symptom narrative

I received my third HPV (Gardasil 9) vaccine dose on 06/01/2026. About 12 hours after vaccination, I developed a high fever up to 102.5°F, severe body aches, fatigue, chills, sweating, and rapid breathing. The fever lasted about 3 days. After the fever improved, I developed intermittent sharp, stabbing, electric shock-like pain on the left side of my body, including the upper arm, back, chest area, and left ear. The pain started before the rash appeared. A painful rash then developed on the left side of my back and chest. The rash was painful to touch and not itchy. Small blisters later appeared. I was evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with shingles / herpes zoster. I was prescribed valacyclovir (Valtrex) 1 gram three times daily and gabapentin 300 mg at night for pain. At the time of this report, I am still recovering and still have rash/blisters and nerve pain.
