Received HEPLISAV-B, and Blood Test Same Day Hep B Surface Antigen Positive; Initial report received on 18-May-2026. A nurse reported that a 77 year old male patient (race, and ethnicity not reported) received HEPLISAV-B (hepatitis B vaccine) for hepatitis B immunization and received a blood test the same day that showed a positive result for Hepatitis B surface antigen within a half hour timeframe. No medical history or concomitant medications were reported. On 01-May-2026, the patient received an unknown dose number of a hepatitis B vaccine [HEPLISAV-B (Lot # 947341, expiration date 28-Mar-2028, NDC#, 43528-003-01, route, and site not reported)]. On 01-May-2026, the same day after receiving HEPLISAV-B, the patient got a blood test that had a positive result for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen within a half hour timeframe.
