Symptom narrative

after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds; after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds; after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds; This non-serious case was reported by a consumer via call center representative and described the occurrence of weight gain in a male patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) solution for injection for prophylaxis. Concurrent medical conditions included osteoarthritis, radiating pain (pain started in his left neck and shoulder then spread to left hip and knees and then went to the right side of his body), hand swelling and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Concomitant products included esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate (Nexium). On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced weight gain (Verbatim: after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds), psa decreased (Verbatim: after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds) and unexpected beneficial therapeutic response (Verbatim: after getting the SHINGRIX vaccine his PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds). The outcome of the weight gain and psa decreased were not reported and the outcome of the unexpected beneficial therapeutic response was not applicable. It was unknown if the reporter considered the weight gain and psa decreased to be related to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 01-JUN-2026 The patient self-reported this case. The reporter mentioned that the patient was eating and had an appetite when weight loss occurred. The patient received the vaccine series in the fall of 2022. The patient mentioned that after getting the vaccine the symptoms mentioned above greatly diminished and kept getting better. The patient mentioned after getting the Shingrix vaccine PSA lowered and he gained the 20 pounds that he previously lost. The batch number was not provided upon follow-up with the reporter.
