(For the vaccines above, Pentacel was the second in the series, but it was the first with the combo vaccine. In other words, Daptacel, ActHib, and IPOL were given previously). Mother paged me today (I am the infant's doctor, though I don't carry rotavirus vaccines and don't vaccinate against that disease, so the family went to another nearby doctor, Dr, later in the day on 5/22 for Rotarix) to inform me that patient had stool with some "jelly" like dark red material (which she presumed to be blood) this am. She also sent me an e-mail with picture. It appears to be about 1" x 1/4", dark red, and with some streaks of med red material attached to it. There is also a second piece in the photo, but it is less clear. The stool is otherwise green and appears a bit mucusy. This was the first episode of any similar blood. He was otherwise well w/o emesis, fever, irritability, or poor PO. I spoke with CDC today. I spoke with mother a few times. He has had two stool since that were not with apparent blood. Still no emesis. Also, she informed me that after the first rota vaccine, his stool became green (prev was yellow, mustardy) and remained that way for ~ 6 weeks. It became green again after this second dose. No travel, no new foods, breast fed only, no known allergy. no recent illness. Sister had strep when he was getting second rota.
None, though child has had a rash near his mouth and on his chin, thought to be related to drooling.

see prior notes. I didn't consider it necessarily from rota at the time
