After giving the vaccine the patient inquired about other services we offer in the pharmacy, including BP readings. Took the patients BP following the vaccine which was 173/103. Had the patient sit in the vaccine room and gave the patient water and a snack. The patient stated she was only taking 1/2 of her Losartan 100mg tablet once daily (non-adherent as she was supposed to be taking 1 tablet once daily). The patient also stated that she has only had a bite of a cinnamon roll and coffee all day. At this point it was afternoon. After waiting 10 minutes the patients BP was now 193/93. I had the patient stay seated and we called for emergency services. The patient was reporting feeling clammy, having chills, and was shaky/experiencing a slight tremor. The patient was then loaded into the ambulance.
