Left arm pain began after receiving a Shingrix vaccine on 05/28/2026 during her annual physical visit in the office. Initial symptoms included mild muscle soreness, which was expected to resolve with anti-inflammatories, ice, and elevation. Pain persisted and intensified by Friday, described as unbearable and comparable to childbirth pain. Swelling was present, and movement was severely restricted; the farthest range of motion is limited, with pain described as sharp and stabbing, located at the left upper arm and shoulder, and radiating from the injection site. Mild soreness remains at the injection site, but the most significant pain is in the shoulder region up to the neck. No fever or chills reported. Emergency care was sought at a hospital on Saturday morning, where Motrin was provided and a sling was recommended for support. She currently has the sling on. Pain management includes over-the-counter Motrin (200 mg, three tablets as needed), Tylenol, and continued use of ice. Mobility remains limited, and movement beyond a certain point causes intense pain. X-ray and referral to ortho done. X-ray showed Small cortical defect involving the greater tuberosity which may represent a mildly displaced fracture.
