Within a month of the vaccine I developed new onset pain in my right hip. It was significant enough that I discussed with my doctor. It did not respond to otc meds for pain like ibuprofen or Tylenol. It kept me awake at night. I could not sit for long periods without having to move, get up and walk. Once during that time I tried sitting through a movie at a theater and was absolutely miserable. Standing longer than a few minutes became quite painful. Walking for prolonged distances was very uncomfortable. I couldn t lie on that side very long so sleep was disrupted. I had previously ruptured a lumbar disc and was concerned I had done so again and an MRI was ordered.

MRI without contrast, xray. These showed new onset bilateral femoral head avascular necrosis stage 1-2. I underwent surgery on each hip, a few months apart to decompress the area, remove the necrotic tissue and inject the area with my own stem cells to stimulate blood flow to the bone. We believe the surgery arrested the necrosis. I?m left with chronic pain from the initial damage.
