Patient presented for a scheduled Shingrix vaccination and received the first dose. Approximately 15 minutes after administration, the patient reported an itchy sensation in the throat accompanied by coughing. The patient denied any other symptoms, including shortness of breath, wheezing, rash, hives, or facial swelling. The patient was observed and reassessed approximately 10 minutes later, at which time she reported that her symptoms were improving. A follow-up phone call was conducted the following day. The patient reported the throat itching and cough resolved completely within approximately 40 minutes after onset. She stated that she was feeling well and had experienced no further symptoms. The patient was advised to follow up with her doctor for further evaluation and to discuss whether it would be appropriate to receive the second dose of the Shingrix vaccine.
