Suspected vaccination failure; had both Shingles vaccine five years ago and still got them; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a 83-year-old patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) solution for injection for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine. In MAR-2026, more than 2 years after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: had both Shingles vaccine five years ago and still got them). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the shingles was resolving. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure and shingles to be related to Shingles vaccine. The company considered the vaccination failure to be unrelated to Shingles vaccine. The patient had received both doses of the shingles vaccine five years ago and still got shingles. It had been the worst pain and was from four months. The symptoms had started to fade, but he/she was still experiencing pain. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
