The patient signed up for 4 immunizations(COVID, HepB, MMR and Varicella), via the web, that were required for her employment. The pt. received 3 vaccines in one arm (left). After receiving that vaccines, she informed that she felt it/them in her legs and asked if that was normal. I told her that I had not heard of that occurring before, but sometimes after receiving a vaccine there can be muscle pain and sorenes after receiving a vaccine and sometimes you can feel tired afterwards. I asked the patient if she wanted to continue with the COVID vaccine as it wasn't an employment requirement, according to the paperwork she presented. She said that she would rather get the vaccine from a professional, rather than her employer. She did drink some water and took a break before receiving the COVID (Comirnaty) vaccine. The COVID vaccine was administered in the right arm and the patient reported that she was having difficulty breathing when attempting to talk. When asked if she felt her throat was closing, she said yes. One dose of epinephrine (0.3mg dose) was administered (left thigh) and 911 was called. The patient was observed until EMS arrived and advised not to drink or consume anything until EMS arrived. (name withheld) went to the front to flag the EMS workers. The patient reported that her breathing and throat tightness had improved. When offered the use of a fan, the patient reported feeling chilly and stated that she was shaking, she continued saying the only time she remember that happening before (shaking) was when she was given some sort of dye, prior to a test. Coach (name withheld) was present during the event. The EMS workers asessed the patient's vitals (all were within normal limits) and stated that they would give the patient a ride home and gave her the choice of using a stretcher or walking to exit the store. The patient chose to walk to the entrance. The patient phoned the pharmacy after arriving home, stated that she felt better and expressed appreciation for care received. The patient was advised to follow up with her MD tomorrow morning and report the events that occurred.
