I tested positive for COVID-19 on 12/31/2021 and recovered over the following two weeks. I received a Moderna COVID-19 booster (Lot 007J21-2A) on 02/02/2022. Shortly after vaccination, I developed new neurological and autonomic symptoms that I had never experienced before. Symptoms included tachycardia, dizziness, impaired coordination, difficulty with balance and depth perception, visual disturbances, brain fog, severe fatigue, exercise intolerance, orthostatic intolerance, migraines, tinnitus, light and sound sensitivity, and episodes of numbness involving my entire body, as well as intermittent numbness affecting one side of my face and my tongue. On 02/15/2022, I was transported by ambulance to the emergency department due to severe tachycardia. Despite ongoing medical evaluation and treatment, my symptoms persisted. I have since been diagnosed with dysautonomia/Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), vestibular migraine, Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD), and chronic autonomic dysfunction. I continue to receive treatment through Neurology and the Post-Acute COVID Clinic. My symptoms remain chronic and have resulted in long-term disability. Based on the timing of symptom onset, I believe these symptoms began following the Moderna COVID-19 booster vaccination.

02/15/2022: Emergency department evaluation following ambulance transport for severe tachycardia. ECG/EKG, cardiac monitoring, blood work, brain CT, brain MRI, echocardiogram, Holter monitor, tilt table test, nerve conduction study (NCS), electromyography (EMG), and additional neurological and cardiology evaluations were performed. This workup ultimately led to diagnoses of dysautonomia/Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), vestibular migraine, Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD), and chronic autonomic dysfunction. Ongoing treatment continues through Neurology and the Post-Acute COVID Clinic.
