Kidney failure; Suspected vaccination failure; Shingles; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of renal failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) solution for injection for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced renal failure (Verbatim: Kidney failure) (serious criteria hospitalization and GSK medically significant), vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: Shingles). The outcome of the renal failure and vaccination failure were not reported and the outcome of the shingles was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the renal failure, vaccination failure and shingles to be related to Shingles vaccine. About six months ago, the patient had been hospitalized with kidney failure and, during the hospitalization, had developed shingles despite already having received the vaccine. The patient was still experiencing symptoms, although they were not as severe as before. The patient stated that shingles had been a horrible experience and believed that, even though receiving the vaccine might not have guaranteed complete protection. The patient would not have taken the chance. The batch number was not provided, and we are unable to contact the reporter. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary vaccination schedule and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.; Sender's Comments: A case of Vaccination failure and Renal failure, unknown time after vaccination with Shingles vaccine, in a patient.
